Marcus Smart: ‘Isaiah Thomas Is The Best Player Under 6 FT’

2 Min Read

Isaiah Thomas is still trying to find his way back to the NBA and he’s found big support in his former teammates. Thomas was great with the Boston Celtics, especially during the 2016/17 NBA season, where he took the team to compete in the playoffs and was named an All-Star while finishing 5th in the MVP voting.

He had a similar campaign the next year, becoming a star in the league.

He surely was a great player for the C’s, so it was a surprise when they dealt Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the deal that brought Kyrie Irving to Boston. A couple of years have happened since that and the people of Boston haven’t forgotten about all the good things Thomas did for them, bringing hope to the team once again.

After Thomas replied to a tweet from CBS Sports that recalled his incredible 2016/17 season, Smart gave him huge praise.

“Best to ever do it under 6’ my brother @isaiahthomas,” Smart wrote shortly after IT posted his tweet.

Thomas then would reply to Smart, calling him one of his favorite teammates.

The relationship between these two goes beyond their time with the Celtics. Almost three years after IT left the TD Garden, Smart still has big respect for him. During the 2016/17 campaign, Thomas posted 28.9 PPG and 5.9 APG while shooting 46.3 FG% and 37.9 3P%

He remains a free agent after starting this campaign with the Washington Wizards before getting traded him to the Los Angeles Clippers, who waived him after three days. Thomas is still looking for another shot in the league. It remains to be seen if he’ll get it.
