Michael Jordan Talks About Walking In On Chicago Bulls’ Cocaine Party As A Rookie: “Things I’ve Never Seen In My Life.”

Michael Jordan’s NBA journey didn’t get off to the best of starts. He went from being the biggest sensation in North Carolina and their small-town kind of lifestyle straight to one of the biggest cities in the country to play for the Chicago Bulls.

Jordan, like all rookies, had to earn his stripes. He had to prove everybody else that he was an alpha dog and earned their respect by leading by example. However, before that happened, he was just another first-year player veteran guys didn’t pay attention to.

So, luckily for him, he wasn’t invited to a private party most of the team threw prior to the start of the season. Jordan went looking for his teammates and found them with cocaine, marijuana, and women and ended up completely overwhelmed by the situation:

“I walk in and practically the whole team was in there. And it was like, things I’ve never seen in my life, you know, as a young kid. You got your lines over here, you got your weed smokers over here, you got your women over here. So the first thing I said, ‘Look, man, I’m out.’ Because all I can think about is if they come and raid this place, right about now, I am just as guilty as everyone else that’s in this room. And from that point on, I was more or less on my own,” Jordan revealed in ‘The Last Dance’.

Jordan’s relentless work ethic immediately made him stand out from the rest of the pack. He turned the Bulls from a mediocre franchise to contenders and set the bar for how things had to be done down there.

Luckily for him and the world, he didn’t get carried away like most rookies or young players would’ve done. He knew better, focused exclusively on becoming the best player he could’ve been and he ended up being the greatest of all time.
