Shaq O’Neal’s Emotional Reflect On Kobe Bryant’s Death

Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant created one of the biggest duos in NBA history, taking the Los Angeles Lakers to become the strongest force in the league at the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s. They not only won one title but three, in consecutive years.

Even though they had some differences during their playing days and after, they remained close over the years. Following Kobe’s tragic death on Sunday, O’Neal has been vocal with his sadness over the past few days.

He made his first appearance on television since Bryant’s passing on Tuesday, and he couldn’t hold his tears when talking about his former teammate.

“I’m 47 years old. Lost two grandmothers. Lost a Sarge. Lost my sister. And now, I lost a little brother,” he said.

This pair was absolutely great on the floor, winning three championships together. O’Neal would go to win another ring with the Miami Heat while Kobe won two more with the Purple and Gold. Shaq earned three Finals MVP with the Lakers, with Kobe earning the honor twice.

Although their relationship had plenty of ups and downs, these two guys are one of the main examples of what a duo has to have to be successful in this league.
