As a Laker, Kyle Kuzma knows what it’s like to be the face of trade rumors.
Over the course of his 2-and-a-half year tenure with the team, his name has surfaced in trade talks every single time — including now. The noise doesn’t stop.
But for Kuz, he recently explained how he’s tackling these rumors differently than before, and how he’s not letting it get to him.
“I consumed it more last year,” he said. “This year is different I don’t care at all, but last year it was new and foreign, so it was like more of a can’t-really-escape-it thing. But for me it’s a little bit easier now. I don’t really have my Twitter like that. I don’t really use it.”
Kuzma has just accepted the reality of being a young, promising player in Los Angeles. at this point, he’s just along for the ride — unconcerned about whatever trade talks might be including his name. He has clearly learned from his experience last year.
Unfortunately, his play on the court has been less than inspiring. He has struggled all year long to find his role and stay consistent in a team with high expectations. Here’s to hoping that he figures things out…
