Kendrick Perkins Reveals The Problem With The Portland Trail Blazers

1 Min Read

After a third place finish, and trip to the Western Conference Finals last year, the Trail Blazers had big expctations entering the 2019-20 NBA season.

In the midst of a 5-game losing streak, that has them 14-21 on the season, there is a sense of pessimism when it comes to the team and the outlook for the rest of their season. No doubt, the problem stems from all different kinds of things: injuries, roster changes, etc. But according to former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins, the biggest problem stems much deeper than all of that.

In sports, the chemistry between the players is oftentimes more important than the overall talent on the roster. If the team can’t play together, for each other, as one, it’s going to be hard to win games, no matter who’s on the team.

Portland is finding out that reality for themselves this season. After a summer of changes and injury, the players have taken to playing hero-ball instead of trusting each other. Unless things turn around soon, we could see some major changes take place before the end of February’s trade deadline.
