4 Destinations That Will Ruin LeBron James’ Legacy If He Signs With Them

It seems like the never-ending debate about LeBron James being the greatest player of all times has finally come to an end after the King just lost yet another NBA Finals to earn a 3 and 6 record in basketball’s ultimate stage.

Whether he is or isn’t the GOAT isn’t up to us to debate, but even if he’s fell off the ladder, nobody can deny all the impressive milestones he has accomplished over his outstanding 15-year career.

But, now that the Cavs have shown a lot of incompetence surrounding him with a capable support cast and considering how poor James relationship is with the team’s front office, we could expect him to leave the team during the summer.

Furthermore, he’s set to have a lot of offers on his table for sure, but there are a handful of teams that could truly hurt his legacy if he were to sign with them, and today, we’re going to let you know about them.

4. New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans made great strides the prior campaign and even upset the Portland Trail Blazers in the playoffs despite the loss of DeMarcus Cousins, but joining a team with 2 of the best big men in the league will make people say he’s just piggyback riding and can’t win without help.

Also, that would mean joining forces with Rajon Rondo, one of his biggest detractors from the feud with the Celtics, not to mention the fact that New Orleans is a very small market that wouldn’t be very interesting for King James and his family.

3. Oklahoma City Thunder

There have been several rumors pointing towards Paul George actually deciding to stay with the Thunder, so that could lure the King to town. Also, Carmelo Anthony’s been known for being one of James’ closest friends, and he wouldn’t hesitate to recruit him.

Nonetheless, the Thunder has built a bit of a losing culture over the last couple of years, and with them being Russell Westbrook’s team, it’s going to be quite difficult having a couple of alpha dogs on board, especially both being such ball dominant players.

2. Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics despise LeBron James, they just hate his guts, and it feels like the feeling’s mutual. James simply can’t join the Celtics even if they make an approach to him, and even if they clear the cap space to get him, mostly because of the rivalry they had during the Miami Heat era.

Also, this would mean James would be pretty much following Kyrie Irving after he refused to keep playing next to LeBron, so it would definitely take a major toll on his image, and could even lure Kyrie away from the Garden.

1. Golden State Warriors

Several reports state that LeBron James is willing to sit with the Warriors this offseason, and if he actually signs there, it would be even more embarrassing than what Kevin Durant did when he turned his back on the Thunder to join the team that beat him in the playoffs.

The Warriors have owned LeBron ever since Kerr’s arrival and had beat the Cavs 3 times in 4 years, so joining them would be kind of a coward move by the King, just giving up on the chance to create his own superteam and beat them again, like he did 2016 in the NBA Finals.
