Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, best known for playing Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones, was in attendance for Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Toronto Raptors at Crypto.com Arena. RJ Barrett was initially unaware of that fact, so he was quite surprised when he saw Coster-Waldau courtside after he made a shot in the first quarter.

Barrett was flexing while looking at the fans after a difficult and-one when he realized there was a familiar face in the crowd. The 24-year-old had to do a double take as he couldn’t quite believe he just came across the infamous ‘Lannister’ in the flesh.
Barrett pointed at Coster-Waldau and very clearly asked “Game of Thrones?” The 52-year-old could be seen smiling at the Raptors star’s reaction and it’s a pity we didn’t see if he had anything to say in response.
Even an appearance from the “Kingslayer” wasn’t able to inspire Barrett and the Raptors to a win over “The King,” though. LeBron James recorded 19 points, 10 rebounds, 16 assists, and one steal to lead the Lakers to a 123-103 win. It was James’ second-straight triple-double and the Lakers improved to 6-4 on the season thanks to him.
The Lakers have rebounded from a run of four defeats in five by winning their last two games. They will now look to make it three in a row when they welcome the Memphis Grizzlies to Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday, with the game tipping off at 10 PM ET.
As for Barrett, he had 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in this contest for the Raptors, who have now dropped to 2-9 on the season. They are not as bad as the record suggests, with a lot of those losses being close ones, but this is certainly going to be a rebuilding season for them.
The Raptors will take on the Milwaukee Bucks next at Fiserv Forum on Tuesday at 8 PM ET in an NBA Cup game. They failed to make it out of the group stage last season and I am expecting a similar outcome this time around.
