The Los Angeles Lakers have lost their first game of the season at the hands of the Phoenix Suns, who walked out 109-105 winners in this clash to improve their record to 3-1. The Lakers also hold a 3-1 record as both teams have proven themselves as worthy contenders to open the season.

The Suns were propelled by their star duo, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Booker delivered an impressive 33 points (11-23 FG) in his first standout game of the season, while Durant maintained his strong start with 30 points (11-20 FG) and eight rebounds. Bradley Beal contributed a solid 15 points (6-14 FG), and Royce O’Neale added 12 points (4-9 FG) along with nine rebounds, showcasing his two-way impact.

For the Lakers, Anthony Davis was the standout performer, scoring 29 points (12-26 FG) and grabbing 16 rebounds with three blocks, including 16 points in the first quarter. LeBron James had a notably poor outing, finishing with just 11 points (3-14 FG) and eight assists.

“Genuinely might be the worst game LeBron’s had as a Laker,” said one fan who was shocked to see LeBron’s lack of impact on the game.

“This is the worst LeBron game I’ve ever seen in my life,” said a fan who believed this was the worst LeBron we have ever seen.

“Yeah this LeBron streak matters more than the win f**k this,” said a Lakers fan who wanted the 10-point streak to stay alive more than the win over their rivals.

“Father time is looking at his first win vs LeBron James rn,” joked a fan about James’ unreal longevity finally showing cracks.

“Anthony Davis has pretty comfortably been the best player in the world this year,” said fans shocked at how well Davis has played this season.

“AD the best player in the league right now,” said another fan after using this performance as confirmation.

“Give Anthony Davis the MVP. Give him the DPOY. Give him MIP. Give him 6MOY just for the hell of it. Everything, Everywhere, AD At Once,” said another superfan who thinks Davis might have an accolade-filled season.

This was a rough game for the Lakers to lose after they jumped out to an 18-point lead in the first quarter. The talent of the Suns, especially their superior rotational depth,  helped them pull this win out. Coupled with LeBron having one of the worst performances of his Lakers career, this was always going to be very hard to win for LA.

Anthony Davis has averaged 32.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.5 blocks through the first four games of the season, making a legitimate case to be viewed as both the league MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, provided he can sustain this form throughout the season.

Kevin Durant has been phenomenal for the Suns himself, averaging 29.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists through their first four games and proving to everyone he has a lot more basketball left to play.
