In a recent social media post, the Chicago Bulls players shared their personal NBA Mount Rushmore, sparking some intriguing conversations among fans and analysts alike. Each player named their top four basketball icons, showcasing a mix of legends from different eras. While many of the picks were consistent, a few unique choices highlighted the personal preferences of these Bulls stars.

Ayo Dosunmu’s selections were emblematic of the modern era of basketball. Michael Jordan, often regarded as the greatest of all time, was a lock for Dosunmu, alongside Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, two other giants of the game. The inclusion of Stephen Curry reflects the respect for Curry’s transformative impact on the modern game, especially with his unparalleled shooting ability.

Zach LaVine, the Bulls’ high-flying scorer, also honored Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant, but added the unstoppable force that was Shaquille O’Neal. LaVine’s list highlights sheer dominance, with Jordan, Kobe, and LeBron representing three of the greatest wing players ever, while Shaq adds the element of a physically dominant big man who could change the game both offensively and defensively. Shaq’s inclusion speaks to LaVine’s appreciation for power and presence in the paint.

Lonzo Ball’s Mount Rushmore was similar to LaVine’s, but this isn’t surprising given the consensus surrounding Jordan, LeBron, and Kobe as three of the top players ever. His inclusion of Shaquille O’Neal further illustrates how much influence Shaq’s dominance had on younger players. O’Neal’s ability to dominate games in the post is well-respected by players across the league, and Ball’s selections reflect an appreciation for a mix of perimeter and interior greatness.

Patrick Williams added a slightly different take by including Wilt Chamberlain, one of the most statistically dominant players in NBA history. Jordan, Kobe, and LeBron are mainstays, but Wilt’s place on Williams’ list signifies the power of Chamberlain’s unprecedented numbers, including his 100-point game and his ability to average over 50 points per season. This pick shows Williams’ respect for the older generation of players who set the foundation for today’s stars.

Julian Phillips’ list includes Kevin Durant, adding some variety to the otherwise familiar names. Durant’s scoring versatility and ability to dominate from anywhere on the court make him a worthy addition. His inclusion alongside Jordan, Kobe, and LeBron shows Phillips’ appreciation for scoring prowess and clutch performances.

Matas Buzelis went with the same Mount Rushmore as Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine, featuring Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, and Shaq. His list emphasizes a respect for players who not only dominated their eras but left lasting legacies through their combination of skill, athleticism, and impact on the game.

Coby White’s inclusion of Magic Johnson brings another legend into the mix. Magic’s incredible vision, leadership, and versatility revolutionized the point guard position. White’s choice reflects a respect for the older generation, while still acknowledging the greatness of Jordan, LeBron, and Kobe.

Jalen Smith added a unique twist by including Carmelo Anthony on his Mount Rushmore. While Anthony doesn’t often make all-time top-four lists, his scoring ability and long-standing career earned him a place in Smith’s top-four. This pick is a nod to Anthony’s influence on a generation of scorers, particularly with his versatility as a forward.
