Not only is Luka Doncic one of the best basketball players in the world today, but he is also one of the best when it comes to trick shots. A compilation of Doncic’s most insane trick shots recently went viral on social media and it’s remarkable just how good he is, at making these.

The most impressive shot of them all has to be the one where the ball goes in after hitting the wall. Doncic isn’t even looking at the basket and still somehow makes it. I doubt he did that on the first try but if he did, then it’s all the more impressive.

Doncic has hit some other wild shots too over the years. Perhaps the most recent one that caught the eye was when he made a trick shot off the jumbotron before a home game against the Houston Rockets last season.

That’s just ridiculous shot-making. Stephen Curry might well be the only other player in the NBA who is capable of making these. Doncic is just a very special talent and I can’t wait to see what other crazy trick shot he is going to attempt next.

Luka Doncic And The Mavericks Look To Go One Step Further In 2024-25

Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to the NBA Finals for the first time in his career last season and it was quite the playoff run. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get the Mavericks across the finish line, as they lost in five games to the Boston Celtics.

While Doncic got a lot of flak for the series defeat, he didn’t get much help from his supporting cast, as the likes of Kyrie Irving struggled massively. In the hope of ensuring that they avoid a repeat of that, the Mavericks have made some notable additions to their roster. The likes of Klay Thompson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Quentin Grimes, and Naji Marshall have been brought in to bolster the squad.

Thompson is the biggest name in there and if he can rediscover some of the old magic, he could prove to be a terrific acquisition. Klay had a down year by his standards in 2023-24, averaging 17.9 points on 38.7% shooting from three for the Golden State Warriors. The hope is that a change in scenery might help him, as there seemed to be a fair bit of issues behind the scenes last season.

Dinwiddie, meanwhile, comes to Dallas after a woeful stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. He played some of his best basketball with the Mavericks in 2022 when they made it to the Western Conference Finals, though, and it will be interesting to see if he can get anywhere near that level on his return.

Marshall and Grimes could also prove to be great additions if they develop as expected. While those two and Dinwiddie performing well would help, I think the Mavericks’ season might well end up being defined by Thompson and Irving.

We know Doncic, who averaged 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game last season, is going to be excellent when healthy. The question is how well are his “co-stars” going to play. If both Irving and Thompson are on a roll come the business end of the season, I can see the Mavericks getting over the line in 2025.
