Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has had quite an eventful offseason, but that hasn’t stopped the forward from getting his work in. In a recent video, James was joined by his wife, Savannah, for a Pilates workout.

Professional athletes engage in multiple forms of exercise to maintain and improve their performance. From weight lifting and drills to more esoteric practices, high-performance athletes are known to find alternatives to supplement traditional training methods.
In this regard, Pilates workouts are extremely effective, especially for developing core strength and flexibility, necessary elements in an intense sport like basketball.
Even at 40 years old, James continues to display a commitment to his body, partaking in different forms of exercise to stay ready for the regular season. Unfortunately, his attempt at maintaining his fitness hasn’t received the same kind of admiration from fans.

The general tone appears to be skeptical, but the upcoming season could be promising for James and the Lakers.
Despite the early offseason drama involving trade and buyout rumors, it has become more apparent that James will remain with the team this season. To support this, Lakers star Luka Doncic has also expressed his wish to have the 40-year-old be a part of the franchise and eventually retire as a Laker.
With the forward locked in with the team, the Purple and Gold boast a solid roster with a lot of potential to be competitive. Having made some key additions in the offseason, the Lakers have added necessary depth in multiple positions.
On the verge of entering his 23rd campaign, James remains one of the most productive players in the league. Last season, he recorded an average of 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game.
It is unlikely that he will sustain the same degree of production in the upcoming season. However, history has shown that doubting James’ capabilities is a risky proposition. With an eye on the championship, James and the Lakers will hope to mount a title charge.
