Jeremy Sochan survived a frightening car crash last weekend. TMZ Sports is reporting that Jeremy Sochan crashed his 2019 Porsche on the I-10 and the Loop 1604 intersection in San Antonio. According to the San Antonio PD, Sochan lost control of his car and collided with the left guard rail while driving. Thankfully, no serious injuries or casualties were reported.

Sochan luckily did not suffer any major injuries and is expected to make it to Spurs training camp next month without any concerns. It is a major relief that we didn’t see a young player like Sochan suffer any major injuries that could affect his life or his career.

Sochan has been a promising, albeit, inconsistent player for the San Antonio Spurs. He first gained notoriety among NBA fans for his unique free-throw shooting style. After that, his brief, yet hostile interactions and comments about LeBron James garnered him a lot of fan support and fan backlash depending on people’s opinions on James.

Sochan is now part of a Spurs team that is on the rise, thanks to the arrival and spectacular play of Victor Wembanyama. Sochan plays somewhat of an instigating role on the team but is relied upon as a scorer and a defender at times. Last season, Sochan averaged 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.

Some fans expect Sochan to take his performance up a notch next season, as the Spurs look to return to playoff contention behind Wembanyama. If Sochan can be maximized by some veteran players like Chris Paul, then the Spurs will be a dark horse team in the post-season that can make some noise in the playoffs.

What Is The Ceiling For The Spurs Next Season?

The San Antonio Spurs are currently in a rebuilding phase right now, having spent the last few seasons with more notches in the losses column. Their poor performances paid off, as they were able to land Victor Wembanyama, perhaps the most sought-after prospect in the NBA since LeBron James.

Building around Victor Wembanyama is of paramount importance, as he is primed to be one of the best players in the NBA for years to come.

His incredible rookie year alone gave fans a glimpse of what he can do by himself. He averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.6 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game, en route to winning Rookie of the Year, and finishing second in the Defensive Player of the Year.

If surrounded by a solid cast of players in the years to come, Wemby could help launch a second Spurs dynasty.

Wembanyama will have the benefit of being paired with veteran All-Star point guard Chris Paul. Paul has been able to elevate middling teams with his court vision and basketball IQ. If he can maximize Wemby’s potential with his excellent leadership, the Spurs could be one of the most dangerous teams in the league.

With legendary head coach Gregg Popovich in the final years of his coaching tenure, the Spurs will want to give him a great goodbye, perhaps with one or multiple NBA championships.
