Lonzo Ball was enjoying his time playing Playgrounds on NBA 2K, accumulating an 18-game winning streak. Ball wanted to get to 20 wins, but his girlfriend was coming over to visit, so he had to log off, to which he said he had to prioritize her over his winning streak.

“I really sat there for game though… Look at the score, 19-all… Watch this pull back, lay me. Game time. I could’ve went on a 20! I could’ve went on a 20 but my girl pulled up! Priorities.”

Ball’s girlfriend, Ally Rossel, clearly took priority over his NBA 2K streak. The pair have been dating since 2020, with the social media influencer being spotted at several games and events to showcase her support for Ball. Rossel was previously linked with fellow NBA player Jordan Clarkson, who was briefly Ball’s teammate.

Ball has spent the entirety of the previous season on the sidelines, due to a serious knee injury. Ball’s career has been sidetracked ever since, and he has waited patiently to be able to make a return. His injury woes got so bad that he needed a donor for a new meniscus, which he recently revealed.

There is hope that Ball will make his return to the Chicago Bulls next season, after a near-two year absence. It will be a pretty difficult adjustment for Ball, but if he takes the right steps during the preseason, he will be able to acclimate back to the league well enough and recover his pre-injury form.

How Will Lonzo Ball Adjust Back To The NBA?

Coming back from any injury can be difficult. But to come back from an injury like the one Lonzo Ball suffered can be excruciating.

Not only because of the nature and extent of the injury but also the length of his time away from the court to recover. Ball has not played since March of 2022. His last game was in the 2021-22 NBA season. If Ball makes his return in October, it will mark 29 months since his last official NBA game.

Prior to his injury, Ball was doing quite well for the Bulls. Despite playing just 35 games in the 2021-22 NBA season, Ball had solid numbers, averaging 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. His performances were crucial for the Bulls’ success, as they held the second-best record in the NBA at the time of his last game.

The Bulls have a lot of important roster decisions to make. With the constant rumors about Zach LaVine’s future, the Bulls have reportedly lowered his asking price, perhaps shopping LaVine to suitors. If that does happen, it could mean the Bulls are blowing up their team, which could put Ball’s future with them in jeopardy.

The hope amongst Bulls fans is that Ball can spring back to the same great form he was in prior to the injury. That might be a little optimistic, and it will definitely take Ball some time to get back into the swing of things. But if he can stay the course and not get hurt in the early stages of the season, he stands a good chance to recover his form again.
