Tyrese Haliburton is an incredible basketball player, but he certainly doesn’t have great taste in fashion. Haliburton recently posted some pictures and videos on Instagram, to celebrate the conclusion of his fourth season in the NBA, and it led to a hilarious exchange between him and Josh Hart.

“Started and ended with trash fits,” Hart commented.

“You became an analyst after playing us,” Haliburton stated in response.

“And somehow we both won the same amount of games,” Hart replied.

Hart certainly got him good there. Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers did turn him into an analyst for ESPN after eliminating the New York Knicks in seven games in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, but they then got swept by the Boston Celtics in the Conference Finals. As a result, the Knicks and the Pacers won the same number of games in the 2024 playoffs, eight.

While both sides were disappointed by how their seasons ended, that playoff series between them reignited that rivalry from the 1990s. We saw some intense action on the court and a whole lot of trash-talking.

It had seemed like the Knicks would be the ones to get bragging rights, as they went up 2-0 and then 3-2. Unfortunately for them, the injuries eventually proved to be a bit too much to overcome.

Hart was one of those to be struck by that injury bug. The 29-year-old had to come out of Game 6 due to abdominal soreness and was a shell of himself in Game 7, as the Knicks lost 130-109.

As for Haliburton, he would be struck by that injury bug not long after. The two-time All-Star suffered a hamstring injury in Game 2 against the Celtics and then missed the rest of the series. The Pacers fought valiantly in his absence but weren’t able to prevent a sweep.

After that series, Hart had mocked Haliburton and the Pacers for getting swept by the Celtics. All of that was just in good fun, though. Hart and Haliburton were teammates on Team USA for the 2023 FIBA World Cup and became good friends during that time. You can certainly expect to see more interactions like this in the future.

As for Haliburton’s fit, I hope he wears some better outfits in his fifth season in the NBA but I am not too optimistic about that. The 24-year-old was roasted all season long for his wacky outfits by fans, but that didn’t seem to deter him one bit from continuing to wear them.

Tyrese Haliburton Says The Healthier Teams Are The Ones That Win In The Playoffs

Haliburton cut a very frustrated figure following the Pacers’ elimination at the hands of the Celtics. It was quite the playoff run for them and he was disappointed to not have been able to be out on the court due to the injury. During his exit interview, Haliburton stated that the healthier teams are the ones that win in the playoffs.

“It’s been really frustrating,” Haliburton said. “It’s been trash, honestly. You work so hard to get somewhere and something happens that’s kind of out of your control. Obviously, that’s frustrating for me.

“But what I’ve understood more than anything is that usually in the playoffs, the healthier team wins,” Haliburton continued. “They’re a hell of a team. Boston’s a great team. But obviously very frustrating for me and how I was playing at the time and how we were playing as a group.”

Injuries do end up playing a big part in determining who wins in the playoffs. You need that bit of luck and while the Pacers got it in the first two rounds, it all went wrong for them in the Conference Finals, with Haliburton, who had averaged 18.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game in the postseason, going down.
