Luka Doncic was asked after Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals what exactly he said to a heckling fan in the front row. Doncic wouldn’t repeat what he said, stating that he had grounds to sue the fans for what they said to him, and just wanted to put the entire incident behind him. He did add that those kinds of interactions motivate him to play better.
“I can’t tell you. If I tell you I could sue him. But you know, that gets me going. Everybody knows that by now.”

Doncic had a great game against the Timberwolves, putting up 36 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists as he led the Mavericks to win away from home. Doncic was named the Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP for his incredible performances throughout the series.
During the Western Conference Finals, Doncic put up monster numbers, averaging 32.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 8.2 assists, leading the Mavericks to dominate the Timberwolves in five games. Luka scored 30 or more points in four of the five games in the series, with his only sub-30-point performance coming in the Mavericks’ only loss of the series.
Luka Doncic had some intense words for this fan, who was seen consistently making crying gestures at him. One can only imagine what exactly the fan said to Doncic to get him so exasperated toward him. But while Luka will be glad not to deal with this particular disrespectful fan, he should expect the same level of heckling, if not more, when he faces the Celtics in the NBA Finals.
Luka Doncic Could Become An All-Time Great With A Championship
Luka Doncic was all smiles after he and the Mavericks won the Western Conference Finals. He even joked around about his teammate Kyrie Irving after the game, poking fun at him being the oldest member of the roster. He and the Mavs will turn their smiles to determination ahead of the NBA Finals.
With his Western Conference Finals MVP, Doncic just added to his already glowing resume. At 25 years old, Doncic has one of the most resplendent career resumes in the league today. And with him on the verge of possibly winning an NBA championship, he could cement himself as an all-time great before he even reaches his prime.
But all of his great performances in the playoffs will not matter in the NBA Finals. Doncic is going to have to take his already excellent game to another level to try and win the NBA championship.
Luckily, he has a great teammate who has experience winning a championship in the form of Kyrie Irving. The duo have been spectacular together and could cement themselves as one of the greatest pairings in history by winning an NBA championship.
If Doncic wins the NBA championship, he will become the latest European superstar to lead his team to a title, after Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic did the same in 2021 and 2023, respectively.
Doncic and the Mavericks will face the Celtics at the TD Garden for Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, June 6th.
