Anthony Edwards held a Q&A session on Threads on Monday, and it unsurprisingly turned out to be quite hilarious. Edwards was asked a wide range of questions, and had the same response to a few of them.
Q: “People say we look alike, you see, you think we twinning?”
Edwards: “Hell nawl.”
Q: “You’ve been getting better & adding something new to your game every year, & I know you don’t wanna say what you’re working on the most this summer, but can you give us a hint? You’re the man, Ant!”
Edwards: “Hell nawl.”
Q: “Will we ever get to see you in the dunk contest?”
Edwards: “Hell nawl.”
At one point, a woman asked Edwards if he could arrange for her to sit courtside at a game. He made it crystal clear he wouldn’t.
Considering Edwards’ wild personal life, with him reportedly having four kids with four women in two years, some might have expected a different answer here. He was in no mood to entertain this individual, though.
With the “Hell nawl’s” now out of the way, here’s a look at some of Edwards’ other responses.
Q: “I work at Neiman Marcus on the strip. Can you come shop with me before you leave the city?”
Edwards: “Nothur.”
Q: “How do you feel about the young guys on the Timberwolves?”
Edwards: “They’re cold.”
Q: “If you had played professional football, what position would you have played?”
Edwards: “Safety or wide receiver.”
Q: “How do you unwind after a game?”
Edwards: “Go home to my fam and play COD.”
Q: “What’s your go-to song when warming up before a game?”
Edwards: “Any BDifferent or Future song.”
Q: “You think you play more like D-Wade or Kobe? Those are the comparisons I’ve seen the most about you.”
Edwards: “Ant.”
The last response was classic Edwards. Another interaction that caught the eye was the 23-year-old refusing to reveal what he has been working on this offseason.
After the Minnesota Timberwolves were beaten in five games in the Western Conference Finals by the Oklahoma City Thunder, Edwards stated he was going to work his butt off in the summer. The three-time All-Star declared no one would be working harder than him.
We saw Edwards transform himself into a deadly three-point shooter in the 2024-25 season. He led the NBA with 320 made threes and shot an efficient 39.5% from beyond the arc as well. It will be interesting to see what additions he has made to his game when the 2025-26 season comes around.
The Timberwolves will need Edwards to take another step if they are to finally break through. They have now lost in five games in the Conference Finals in back-to-back years, and he wasn’t quite at his best in either of those series.
Against the Thunder, Edwards averaged 23.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. He was constantly facing double teams, but the very best players in the league are able to stamp their authority on games even when under immense defensive pressure.
Edwards is still very young, of course, and you would expect him to fare better in such situations as time goes on. He is too good a talent not to.
Getting back to this Q&A session, Edwards enjoyed hosting it and stated he would do it again soon. It’s sure to be as hilarious as this one was.
