The last 10 years in the NBA have certainly belonged to Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, as they have won four championships in that time. It also turns out, that their four titles in that span, are the most among teams in all of the major professional sports leagues in the U.S.

You can include the likes of the WNBA, MLS, and NWSL here, and no teams in those leagues have managed to win four titles in the last 10 years either.

It really does put into context just how dominant of a run it has been for the Warriors. They won the first of those championships in 2015 over the Cleveland Cavaliers and then won back-to-back titles against them in 2017 and 2018. It seemed for a while that they’d remain stuck on three, but they proved their doubters wrong by winning it all once again in 2022 by beating the Boston Celtics.

The NFL’s New England Patriots very nearly joined them at four titles as well but lost in the Super Bowl in the 2017 season. The Warriors, of course, could have won two more themselves, as they lost in the NBA Finals in 2016 and 2019. Even without those two, though, they have cemented their place among the most dominant NBA dynasties of all time.

Bob Myers And Steve Kerr Agree On Stephen Curry Being The Reason For The Warriors’ Success

A lot has to go a team’s way to have the kind of success the Warriors have had. Having a great GM like Bob Myers and a head coach like Steve Kerr certainly helped, as the former put together a championship-caliber roster while the latter’s arrival helped elevate the team. Kerr and Myers agree, though, that Curry is the biggest reason for all their success

“But when you have Steph Curry as the centerpiece of your organization, someone who embodies every value that you want to espouse. Someone who allows these relationships to flourish day in and day out, win or lose. It just impacts everything,” Kerr said. “I think Steph has kept this thing afloat because of the power of his own humanity and who he is on top of how great of a player he is. The stability he brings it reminds me a lot of Tim Duncan in San Antonio. When you have that guy, it makes your job and my job that much easier.”

What Curry has done on the court in the last 10 seasons is simply phenomenal. Since the 2014-15 campaign, he has put up impressive averages of 27.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He won back-to-back MVPs in 2015 and 2016, with the second being unanimous.

While that is special, Curry’s contributions off the court have been key to the organization’s success as well. He brings a certain level of stability as Kerr stated and is the kind of superstar every team in the league would want to lead them.

Can The Warriors Win Another Championship?

The big question now is whether the Warriors can win another championship with their Big 3 of Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Based on what we have seen so far this season, the answer to that question would be no. Curry is having another excellent season, with averages of 29.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 0.8 steals per game, but he isn’t getting much help.

Klay has struggled massively, with averages of just 15.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. The likes of Andrew Wiggins haven’t impressed either and a 35-year-old Curry is no longer capable of dragging a team to a title.

We were all proved wrong about the Warriors back in 2022, so it wouldn’t be very smart to completely write them off, but it seems very unlikely this core will win another title.
