  • Ben Simmons recently hit 10 free throws in a row in practice
  • Fans weren’t impressed with this feat
  • Simmons had a poor season with the Nets last year

Forward Ben Simmons has many talents: when healthy, he is a solid slasher, playmaker, and defender. However, he does have some weaknesses, and one of them is not being able to make his free throws. He has a career free throw percentage of 59.1% and only hit 43.9% of his free throws last season.

However, it seems as though Ben Simmons is hard at work trying to improve in that aspect of the game. Recently, a video of Ben Simmons hitting 10 free throws in a row surfaced on social media, quickly going viral. A lot of fans reacted to the video: one of them claimed that Simmons will miss 10 straight when the games actually start.

He will also miss 10 straight when games start

Another fan jokingly said that they could do this in their sleep.

I can do that with my eyes closed

One person stated that they’re not getting fooled by Ben Simmons’ workout videos.

we’re not getting fooled by off-season ben again admin

One account seemed to suggest that being able to do this is a basic part of being in the NBA.

Incredible.. it’s like he’s in the NBA or something

— ScottieJ (@statsobsession) October 4, 2023

There were some people who suggested all players are efficient in practice.

Bro everybody is 50/40/90 in practice

We saw one person suggest that the expectations for Ben Simmons seem very low.

Though it is clear that a lot of people were unimpressed with Ben Simmons in this clip, it is good to see that the former All-Star is willing to work on his flaws. We will see how this translates to actual NBA games, but it is certainly a step in the right direction.

Last season, Ben Simmons averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game for the Brooklyn Nets. Hopefully, he has a bounce-back season this year, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

Ben Simmons Wants To Have An Elite Season

There is no doubt that Ben Simmons has put in a lot of work this offseason, and hopefully, we see him have a great season for the Brooklyn Nets. Simmons has already stated that he owes Nets fans a comeback season, and it is clear that he is motivated to get back to the best version of himself.

If we get the All-NBA version of Ben Simmons back next season, the Brooklyn Nets could be a good team in the Eastern Conference. They have a lot of 3PT shooting on the roster to ensure Simmons has the space to drive, and the conditions are clearly there for Simmons to succeed.

Spencer Dinwiddie Says Ben Simmons Is A More Athletic Version Of Draymond Green

Even though he is a poor perimeter shooter, Ben Simmons, at his best, is a two-way player that can impact multiple areas of the game. In fact, Spencer Dinwiddie recently claimed that Simmons is an athletic version of Draymond Green, pointing out Simmons’ elite defense.

Ben Simmons certainly has some similarities to Draymond Green. Both players aren’t aggressive scorers, preferring to focus on the other aspects of the game to help their teams win. They are also willing to do the dirty work on the court and reduce defensive responsibilities on their co-stars.

Hopefully, we see Ben Simmons get back to DPOY-level form this season. He can change things for the Nets if he plays at a high level, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
