- LeBron James’ son gets brutally honest about his “superior” throwing arm
- Bronny brags about his “good arm” and the ability to read defenses
- Bronny is back on the path to stardom after a cardiac emergency
With the blood of a basketball legend flowing through his veins, the whole world is waiting to see what Bronny James can do with his professional playing career. This fall, the young star will start his tenure at the University of Southern California to continue his road to the NBA.
But as a man of many talents, Bronny can play all types of sports, including the game of football. In fact, as he revealed in a video for the college, he even has a position in mind for a potential NFL career. “I would probably play like QB. I got a good arm man. I can read the defense and stuff. I’d probably play QB,” said Bronny before throwing a small football into the crowd.”

Quarterback is probably the hardest position to play in the NFL, but it’s also the most popular. For a guy like Bronny, a pure athlete and fearless competitor, he would likely thrive in such a role especially considering how well he has handled the spotlight thus far.
Of course, we know that the NFL path is out of the question for James Jr., who has already committed to playing basketball next season. Still, his interest in the sport is comparable to his father’s, who once famously claimed to have received several NFL contract offers back in the day.
LeBron Almost Became An NFL Legend
Many fans often forget that James could have taken a completely different path in the sports world. As recently as 2011, LeBron was getting contract offers to make the transition to football and he gave it some serious consideration.
“Jerry Jones offered me a contract, also Pete Carroll did as well in Seattle, during our lockout time,” said James. “It definitely got my blood flowing again, it got my mind racing again thinking about the game of football, being out there on Sunday. You know, we was able to get a deal done in the NBA, and I was back on the court in no time. But I definitely thought about it. I still got the jersey too, that Jerry and Pete Carroll sent me from 2011.”
LeBron is known for his amazing athleticism and durability, but his greatest attribute is his mind, which would have served him nicely as an NFL quarterback. Instead, however, James stuck to his guns and used his skills to further cement his legacy as the greatest basketball player ever.
Bronny will likely try and follow a similar path, but his future is much more uncertain.
Bronny Will Continue His Playing Career After Serious Health Scare
This summer has certainly been a strange one for the James family. As LeBron was contemplating retirement, Bronny suffered a Cardiac arrest that had the entire sports world on its heels.
Fortunately, the young star managed to recover and the incident is not expected to impact his playing future. In the days and weeks that have followed, Bronny has slowly emerged in the public eye, showing everyone that he’s okay and on the path to recovery.
The real test for James will be this upcoming season for USC. After averaging 14 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in his senior year at Sierra Canyon High, the sky is the limit for this kid and there is overwhelming confidence that he will succeed at the next level of the game.
If not, he can always pick up a football and try his luck as a quarterback…
