  • Charles Barkley got into his fair share of fights during his NBA career
  • Barkley also hilariously used to hit the opposing team’s mascots
  • A fan shared a compilation of Barkley going around intentionally hitting people

Charles Barkley is now the lovable old man on Inside the NBA, but the 60-year-old was quite ferocious during his playing days. Barkley never shied away from getting physical with his opponents, and a fan shared a wild compilation of the 11-time All-Star hitting players and mascots.

His going after the mascots never stops being funny. Some of the actual fights were really ridiculous, though, and NBA fans reacted to this viral clip.

One fan joked that Anthony Davis wouldn’t last long in this era, “Anthony Davis Definitely Wouldn’t Have Made It In This Era.”

A fan called Barkley a menace, “Barkley was a menace to society.”

Children nowadays are lucky to see a different version of Barkley, a fan said, “Kids are lucky to see a different Chuck.”

A fan reminded everyone that Barkley did make it clear he was no role model, “Chuck told everybody… I’m not a role model lol.”

One fondly looks back on the good old days on watching this, “Awwww the good old days when basketball was physical and ….. basketball.”

Barkley wasn’t one to take any kind of nonsense from his opponents during his playing career and often resorted to some kind of violence. He has mellowed down a lot since he retired, but you do see this fiery side of his show up at times.

Charles Barkley Explained Why He Used To Punch Dennis Rodman

At the very start of the compilation, you see Barkley hitting Dennis Rodman when he was on the Chicago Bulls. Well, it turns out that was something he did quite often, and there was a method to that madness.

Barkley explained that he used to throw punches at Rodman to nullify him at the start of games. The former MVP stated that the eccentric Rodman would stop irritating and bugging him once he hit him.

While they battled it out back then, Sir Charles now has a lot of respect for him. Barkley compared Draymond Green to Rodman and mentioned that he does like him a lot now.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
