- Paul George slammed a critic on Twitter for saying he only won one championship with the Celtics
- Pierce claimed injuries ruined his chances of winning more rings
- The Truth also responded to Kobe Bryant claiming he studied his game late in his career
NBA legend Paul Pierce played 15 seasons of his career for the Boston Celtics. During his time with the team, he led them to an NBA title in 2008.
The 2008 NBA Championship was the sole title Pierce won throughout his 19-year-long career. Pierce was recently trolled by a fan for failing to win more than one ring in his illustrious career. The Basketball Hall of Famer had a two-word response to the fan.
“Injuries, bro,” he tweeted.

Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen were the Big 3 for the Boston Celtics during their 2008 NBA Championship run. However, injuries started to pile up for the team after that season.
In 2009, Garnett played just 57 games during the regular season, averaging 15.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. However, the then 32-year-old big man missed the 2009 NBA playoffs due to a right knee injury he picked up during the regular season. The Boston Celtics were defeated in the 2009 Eastern Conference Semifinals by the Orlando Magic in seven games.
Although the Celtics advanced to the 2010 NBA Finals, they were defeated in seven games by the Los Angeles Lakers. Following that season, the Celtics’ trio of Pierce, Garnett, and Allen never made it back to the NBA Finals.
They ultimately broke up when Allen left the team for the Miami Heat in 2012. On the other hand, Pierce and Garnett were traded to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a blockbuster trade.
The deal saw the Celtics sending Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Jason Terry, and D.J. White to the Nets in exchange for Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Marshon Brooks, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans, and three first-round picks, plus the right to swap first-round picks in 2017.
Kobe Bryant Admitted He Studied Paul Pierce Late In His Career
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics have one of the fiercest rivalries in NBA history. Over the years, many legends have represented each team and locked horns on the biggest stage in the league.
Kobe Bryant and Paul Pierce engaged in many battles during their career. They respected each other as well. Paul Pierce even talked about Kobe Bryant’s competitive spirit when they were shooting a commercial.
On the other hand, the Mamba admitted in 2014 that he studied Pierce’s game even when he was 36 years old.
“I’m going to max [my last two years] out too, to do whatever I can,” Kobe said, per NBC Sports. “Leave no stone unturned, no water left in the sponge.”
Pierce apparently recently found out about this as he reacted to a tweet by an NBA fan stating that.

Pierce had a great career in the NBA, averaging 19.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Apart from winning one NBA title, Pierce was a 1x NBA Finals MVP, 4x All-NBA, and 10x NBA All-Star. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.
