LeBron James is a man of many talents, and blocking players with ease is one of them. The 38-year-old has 1,073 blocks and ranks 92nd among the all-time NBA blocks leaders.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has many victims of his vicious swatting, including Rajon Rondo, who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2021-22 NBA season. A video posted by the Twitter account “bronhistory” recently went viral. It shows James furiously blocking Rondo 12 times.

Despite being rivals during the early years of their respective careers, Rajon Rondo and LeBron James became teammates by joining the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the 2018-19 NBA season.
Rondo played a crucial role in helping the Lakers win the 2020 NBA title as well. The veteran point guard averaged 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.6 assists during the 2020 postseason. It’s certainly hilarious that James once tried to block Rondo after getting faked for a lob when they were teammates, as shown in the above-attached video.
The two-time NBA champion left the Purple and Gold for the 2020-21 season to play for the Atlanta Hawks and the Los Angeles Clippers. Rondo did return to the Lakers for 18 games in the 2021-22 NBA season, but he was traded to the Cavaliers mid-season. Rondo appeared in 21 games for the Cavs and, since then, hasn’t been able to find a team to join in the NBA.
Rajon Rondo Explained What It Takes To Beat LeBron James In The Playoffs
LeBron James and Rajon Rondo played against each other in the playoffs several times before becoming teammates.
Rondo and the Celtics defeated the King’s Cavaliers twice in the postseason. First in the 2008 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals when the Celtics won 4-3 and second time at the same stage in the 2010 NBA playoffs. The Celtics won 4-2 against the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Rondo once revealed the key to beating James in the NBA playoffs during an interview with JJ Redick.
“A team willing to sacrifice, understanding that the one guy they can’t stop,” Rondo said. “LeBron will take all five guys on the floor, the coaching staff, the waterboy, everybody.
“He’s definitely a tough, tough force. To get a stop with, he does. He makes his teammates better, he’s a great teammate, he plays unselfishly,” he added.
James got his revenge against Rondo and the Celtics in the 2011 and 2012 NBA playoffs. LeBron James-led Miami Heat destroyed the Boston Celtics by recording a 4-1 series win in the 2011 Eastern Conference Semifinals.
In the following season, the Heat outplayed the Celtics 4-3 in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals. James famously dropped 45 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists in Game 6 of the series. He averaged 33.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game against the Celtics.
