  • Showtime Lakers’ cohesive system and teamwork stood as their competitive advantage

AC Green, a member of the iconic Showtime Lakers, recently shared his insights on a potential showdown between his Lakers and Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls during an episode of Showtime with Coop:

“You know that, especially that Magic-Michael, that first championship that they won. That was an extremely extremely hard series, obviously for us. We won the first game, but just the whole preparation for that contest and knowing.

“We knew that MJ wanted that championship and he was going to explode. It’s the supporting cast you always got to worry about. It’s one of those things.

“If I had our showtime guys and our system, that we knew how to cover each other’s backs. We played the position, we took away a person’s sweet spot.” (43:55)
