  • Shareef O’Neal says Bronny James is good now following his cardiac arrest last month
  • There were concerns about Bronny’s basketball career after this incident
  • Shareef, though, doesn’t expect it to affect Bronny’s career

Bronny James is doing just fine now, as per his good friend Shareef O’Neal. TMZ managed to catch up with Shareef at LAX, and O’Neal shared some very positive updates regarding Bronny.

“Yes, he’s good,” Shareef said when asked if he had talked to Bronny.

“No, not at all actually,” Shareef said when asked if the cardiac arrest will affect his chances of playing in the big leagues. “I don’t think it will affect anything.”

That’s wonderful news on the health front, and we certainly hope it doesn’t affect the 18-year-old’s career. Bronny collapsed on the court and had a cardiac arrest during practice at USC on the 24th of July. Fortunately, he was stable and was discharged a few days later. Bronny was seen playing the piano back home a few days back and seemed in good spirits.

Shareef, unfortunately, knows what it is like to deal with heart issues. He required heart surgery back in 2018, and it did hurt his career to an extent. Shareef did make it to the G-League though and would be hoping to play in the NBA.

LeBron And Savannah James Were Reportedly Fine With Bronny Not Playing Basketball Again

Going by Shareef’s comments, it seems Bronny is very much interested in getting back on the court at some point, and you’d assume it’s safe for him to play as well. Depending on how his body is feeling, we could potentially see him play for USC in the upcoming college basketball season.

If a return wasn’t going to be possible for Bronny, then that was fine for his parents. Daily Mail reported that LeBron and Savannah James would be fine if Bronny never played basketball again. LeBron has dreamed for years of playing with his son in the NBA, but he would obviously never pressure him to go ahead with his basketball career if it wasn’t safe.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely.
