- Kyrie Irving weighed in on the James Harden-Daryl Morey situation
- James Harden called Morey a liar during a press tour in China
- The Sixers and Harden’s contract talks went south earlier
Kyrie Irving minced no words while sharing his take on the James Harden-Philadelphia 76ers saga.
Responding to Adrian Wojnarowski’s ESPN story of Harden’s public blasting of Sixers president Daryl Morey, Irving wrote:
“Is he Disgruntled Adrian?? Or is he holding Darryl Morey accountable for his dishonesty and lack of transparency throughout the contract negotiation process this summer?”

Irving and Harden shared the floor during the latter’s time with the Brooklyn Nets. Along with Kevin Durant, the two were supposed to collectively be the ‘Big 3’ and win it for Brooklyn, but that objective never materialized.
That said, Irving still backed Harden in the latest drama and called out Morey for being dishonest in the contract talks that are believed to have been the primary move behind Harden forcing his way out of Philadelphia.
These developments come on the back of Harden slamming Morey during his China press tour where he called the latter a liar, further escalating what has already become a messy situation.
Daryl Morey “Unmoved” By James Harden’s Scathing Comments
To be called a liar on a public platform by an NBA star is a pretty big deal, but according to reports, Daryl Morey isn’t worried about the whole shebang.
According to NBA analyst Jason Dumas, “He is holding firm in his stance that he will not trade him unless it makes the Sixers a better team.”
The Sixers had made their objective clear that they would not be trading Harden unless they would get something significant in return. While the LA Clippers were the preferred landing spot for the guard, even their offers weren’t sufficient for the Sixers.
Safe to say, this relationship has soured. Harden made it explicitly clear that he wants nothing to do with Morey, and he will do anything in his power to make sure he will not suit up or Philadelphia.
This raises serious questions about Harden’s future in the NBA, and Morey’s credibility as the team head honcho. Both parties will be scrutinized over the next few weeks, and only time will tell where Harden will eventually land.
