• Tyler Herro has been heavily rumored to be on the trade block as the Heat look to acquire Damian Lillard
• Herro missed most of the Heat’s 2023 NBA Finals run
• A fan implied Herro is leaving Miami due to a social media image, something Herro put a stop to it
The Miami Heat are actively looking for ways to bring Damian Lillard onto their roster before the offseason ends. To make that happen, the Heat are likely going to have to move Tyler Herro to either the Blazers or a team that’ll give them assets for him.
It’s been a rough summer for Herro, who seemingly had enough fans hypothesizing when he’ll be traded. He put a fan on X in his place after the fan implied Herro is leaving due to an edited image of Herro without ‘Miami’ written on his jersey.

Herro had a good year for Miami, averaging 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game last season. Unfortunately, Miami’s success without him in the playoffs is what everyone’s focused on.
Tyler Herro Headed To A New Franchise?
If superstars usually get their way in the NBA, it’s fair to assume Damian Lillard will find himself in a Miami jersey by training camp. If that does happen, where does Herro end up? The Blazers already have a logjam at guard and don’t need Herro in the mix as well.
The Brooklyn Nets seem like the most plausible destination. They are a wing-heavy roster that needs a more stable guard than Spencer Dinwiddie to run their offense. Herro has shown immense value as a versatile combo guard that could supercharge the Nets’ offense.
The San Antonio Spurs could have an outside chance at Herro if they want to make a win-now move with their stockpile of future assets. Victor Wembanyama may excel with a player like Herro running the show with the ball. Given there’s still room to develop for Herro, it’ll be interesting to see where he starts training camp for 2023-24.
