Brandon Miller Reveals How He Made Michael Jordan Brick Free Throws In Practice

Brandon Miller got Michael Jordan to miss free throws in practice by catching the GOAT off-guard with trash-talk.

The current crop of NBA players is of the age where they never saw Michael Jordan play, with Jordan’s retirement from the Wizards coming to precede many of them. They don’t have the same air of reverence that players from the last 20 years held for MJ.

Brandon Miller was controversially selected by Jordan over Scoot Henderson for the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Miller and Jordan built a relationship off practice instantaneously, with Miller elaborating on the pair shooting free throws together.

“I think it kind of showed [Michael Jordan] another side of me… I don’t think he thought I was going to say anything to him, just because he’s Michael Jordan. But I did see him airball that free throw.”

Brandon Miller does NOT back down from trash-talking 🤣

Miller has a long way to go in the sport before he can make Jordan comparisons even surface. There are heaps of players to surpass before he gets to MJ, including his GOAT, Paul George. Hopefully, he has a strong start in the NBA, coming off a contentious Summer League where he didn’t excel. He averaged 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game over five appearances.

Will Miller Be Looked At As A Bad Pick?

Miller’s athletic tools are hard to pass up. He is a 6’9″ forward that could develop into an absolute two-way terror. That is why Miller idolizes PG13 because his play style is similar to his. George was carrying Indiana to seven-game series against LeBron James and the Heat on his own, so Miller will need to bring success to the Hornets in a way we haven’t even seen before from the team.

How Scoot Henderson does in Portland with Damian Lillard likely gone will determine how this debate will develop over their rookie seasons. Hopefully, Miller’s addition allows the Hornets to at least become a play-in team once again, alongside LaMelo Ball and the returning Miles Bridges.
