If Magic Johnson ruled the NBA in the 1980s, Michael Jordan was the best player in the world during the 1990s. The two superstars may have started out as rivals but have become close friends over the years.
It seems their friendship has only gotten better. Why? Johnson and Jordan have vacationed together several times since retirement. Magic recently shared a picture of his holiday in Italy with Jordan on Twitter. In the caption, he hailed him as the greatest basketball player of all time.
“Tonight we enjoyed an incredible dinner at the world-famous Da Paolino Ristorante aka the lemon tree restaurant in Capri, Italy! And I got to hang out with my great friend and the greatest basketball player to ever live, Michael Jordan, and his wife Yvette, Sam and LaTanya Jackson, Judge Greg and Linda Mathis, and John and Vicki Palmer,” Johnson tweeted.

These were some great unseen pictures of the two legends. Apart from them, popular Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson was present in Italy. Magic also posted a video of their dinner on Twitter.

It’s great to see NBA legends still hang out with each other, years after competing in the league. Fans will hope Johnson posts more pictures from the legendary dinner in Italy.
Michael Jordan Loved Facing Magic Johnson In The 1991 NBA Finals
Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers dominated the 1980s by winning five NBA Championships. However, they were dethroned as the best team in the league by the Chicago Bulls after the 1991 NBA Finals.
Speaking of the matchup, Jordan loved facing Johnson’s Lakers because he wanted to make a statement against the then-best team in the NBA.
“This is all I have been working up for, it’s an opportunity to play against what everybody considers to be the best, it was Magic Johnson. The mighty, mighty Lakers at the time were one of the powerhouses in the 80s, and now we’re starting the 90s, so if you are gonna make a statement, you have to make a statement against the best.”
Jordan averaged 31.2 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 11.4 APG while shooting 55.8% from the field in the 1991 NBA Finals. After losing Game 1 of the series, the Bulls won four straight and Jordan became an NBA champion for the first time in his career.
