The Los Angeles Clippers are historically a franchise without much success. Until the 2011-12 season, the Clippers had made the playoffs just four times since they moved to LA in 1984.

The modern era has changed that, and while the Clippers are still without a championship, they have performed well consistently in the regular season. They are the only franchise in the NBA that hasn’t had a losing season in the last 10 years.

Los Angeles Clippers record for the last 10 seasons:

2013/14 – 57-25

2014/15 – 56-26

2015/16 – 53-29

2016/17 – 51-31

2017/18 – 42-40

2018/19 – 48-34

2019/20 – 49-23

2020/21 – 47-25

2021/22 – 42-40

2022/23 – 44-38

The Clippers have built two elite contending cores during these 10 years. The ‘Lob City’ Clippers were led by Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, with able support from players like Deandre Jordan and JJ Redick. After that team blew up, the Clippers stayed afloat thanks to players like Lou Williams before eventually adding Kawhi Leonard and Paul George by making big moves.

In this time, the Clippers have made it to the playoffs in 8 out of 10 seasons. They made it out of the first round on four occasions and made it to the Western Conference Finals once in 2021. The team has been unlucky with injuries to stars in key moments, but the fact remains that their excellent run in the regular season has not translated to the playoffs as one might have expected.

The Los Angeles Clippers Have Never Made It To The NBA Finals

The goal of any team’s NBA season is to win a championship. To do so, they first have to make it to the Finals by winning their conference. The Clippers haven’t managed to do that despite having multiple contending teams in the last decade. The team is one of only five franchises to never make the Finals, alongside the Minnesota Timberwolves, Charlotte Hornets, Memphis Grizzlies, and New Orleans Pelicans.

There have been rumors that Chris Paul could rejoin the team after he was traded away by the Phoenix Suns. Whatever moves they make, the clock is ticking for them to make a legitimate, deep playoff run. Enjoying this much success without tangible results only builds further pressure on a franchise, and their window is short with their current core before the threat of a losing record becomes real again.
