Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce retired from the NBA in 2016 and 2017, respectively. But the two former Boston Celtics superstars have stayed connected to the league by sharing their thoughts via ‘Showtime Basketball.’

The 2008 NBA champions recently tried a new method of engaging with fans. They live-streamed their reactions to Game 3 of the 2023 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets. During the live stream, Pierce asked for a lighter from a person in the audience. The person threw the lighter at Pierce, and it made him furious.

“Give me a lighter,” Pierce demanded. “Hey, my boy, don’t make me smack you.”

Kevin Garnett read the situation quite brilliantly and calmed down his former teammate before he created a further nuisance.

“Relax, man, relax,” Garnett said repeatedly. “Watch the game, lord. Get on the game. Get on the game, P.”

For a change, Kevin Garnett was the calmer person throughout the live stream. Paul Pierce was wasted, and Garnett kept him under control multiple times.

But for NBA fans, it was a gold mine of content. Earlier in the live stream, Pierce introduced Garnett to his girlfriend for the day. The Celtics legend apparently hired her from an escort service.

The Denver Nuggets Have Taken A 2-1 Lead In The 2023 NBA Finals

It was hilarious to see Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce entertain fans with their epic reactions during the live stream. Speaking of the game, it was an easy Denver Nuggets win.

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray became the first duo in NBA Finals history to record 30-point triple-doubles. Jokic had 32 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists to his name, while Murray finished the game with 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

The combined performance from the dynamic duo was enough to steer the Nuggets to a 109-94 Game 3 win over the Heat.

The Nuggets now hold a respectable 2-1 lead in the series. But the job’s not finished yet. They still need two wins to win the first NBA Championship in franchise history. Knowing the gritty playing style of the Heat, they cannot be counted out, just yet.
