Aaron Gordon has kept it real with his playoffs duels and the defensive tasks he’s endured during this run. The Denver Nuggets gave him a role and he embraced it, becoming the best at it.

After Game 1, Gordon reflected on his challenging playoff duels, which include Karl-Anthony Towns (first round), Kevin Durant (second round) and LeBron James (Western Conference Finals), and now Jimmy Butler in the NBA Finals.

“Definitely gonna be sitting my rocking chair when I’m 79 or 90 years old and talking to my kids about, ‘yeah, back in the day, I locked these guys up,'” he told reporters.

Gordon has been great at this, setting the tone for the rest of the team, showing the way on the defensive side. The Nuggets have solid defenders on the roster, including Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jeff Green and Christian Braun, but Gordon has taken the biggest and hardest tasks during the postseason.

He’s set to win it all and he’s doing everything in his power to achieve the ultimate goal. After the Nuggets beat the Heat 104-93, Gordon sent a big message, saying he’s on the court to win regardless of whether he gets credit or not.

AG knew the Heat wouldn’t be an easy rival, and he warned everybody about this scrappy and hard-working squad. In the end, the rest of the team paid attention to his words, as the Nuggets took care of business and secured the first win of the series.

Aaron Gordon Is Having A Terrific 2023 NBA Playoff

The former Orlando Magic player is on a tear right now. He has stepped up for his team since the playoffs started. Gordon has played aggressively, showing a lot of intensity, fighting for every basketball, trying to do whatever he’s asked to do on the court.

Nikola Jokic stated that the best thing Gordon could do was accept his role, and he’s thriving at it. The Nuggets are a solid team that has players who are stars in their roles, and Gordon is the perfect example of that.
