Never before in NBA history has a team come back from down 3-0 in a series, and the Boston Celtics are looking to break that streak to become the first team ever to pull it off. In Game 5, the Cs showed a lot of fight to extend the series and now Miami is facing a lot of pressure to win at home tonight or face a Game 7 on the road against, arguably, the greatest comeback team of the modern NBA.

Ahead of the pivotal elimination game, you would think that Jayson Tatum would be gripped with nerves but he’s doing his best to approach this just like any other game.

“I get nervous before every game,” Tatum said. “Not like scared, but a healthy level of anxiousness… First game of the season against Philly until now… it’s more stakes in the playoffs, more to gain, more to lose, but I get nervous/ anxious before every game.

Jayson Tatum before one of the biggest games of his career: “I get nervous before every game, not like scared, but a healthy level of anxiousness … first game against Philadelphia until now. I get nervous before every game.”

It was a typical interview for Jayson, who always does his best to appear calm, cool, and collected for the public eye. On talent alone, he should be feeling confident that his team can pull off his comeback and return to the Finals, but he knows more than anyone that the odds are stacked against them.

“Yeah, I think it’s just tough as it is, as tonight was we just got to try to move on,” Tatum said after Game 3. “Prepare. Get ready. Practice. Film and stuff for tomorrow. Obviously, we’re in a tough position, but we’ve got to have some pride and bounce back and just be better.”

Can The Celtics Win the Series?

Down 3-2, Boston still has. a lot of work ahead of them if they want to save their season. Even with a win tonight, they’ll have to win Game 7 if they want to advance, and Jimmy Butler is going to get in the way.

The key for this team will be keeping the defensive intensity that helped them succeed last year. If they can unlock that part of their game, and keep getting production from guys like Al Horford and Derrick White, it could be all they need to make a run.

Certainly, Tatum is going to make a difference one way or another and he’s not ready to go home quite yet…
