“Refs Will Literally Watch LeBron Get Assaulted And Not Call A Foul”, Lakers Fan Rants At Referees And Posts Video As Proof

One of the Lakers fans took to Twitter to show a clip of LeBron James getting fouled, but the referees not making a call.

Los Angeles Lakers fans weren’t happy with the officiating during Game 2 of their WCF clash against the Denver Nuggets.

One of the fans even showed proof of how LeBron James was fouled and there was no call coming in from the referees. “Refs will literally watch LeBron get assaulted and not call a foul,” the tweet read.

The clip sees James making his way to the basket, with Bruce Brown Jr. and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope looking to defend. As the 38-year-old loads up toward the time, Brown could clearly be seen making contact with James, which the referees thought didn’t call.

While James did have his share of flaws during the game, missing a dunk and some layups, better refereeing could have perhaps helped his case. But it wasn’t to be, as the Lakers went down 108-103 in Game 2 to let the Nuggets talk a dominant 0-2 lead.

Over the course of the season, there have been several instances where James has been a victim of no-foul calls. Most notably against the Boston Celtics earlier this season. Maybe the officiating could do better when it comes to crunch games such as these, as a point or a possession makes the difference between who progresses further.

NBA Fans React To The No-Foul Call On LeBron James

Safe to say, fans weren’t in agreement with the subpar officiating during the game. “No doubt the refs swallowed the whistle for the Lakers in the final 4 minutes of the game it was obvious,” a fan tweeted.

One fan couldn’t believe how a more obvious call was missed.

This is too much. I get missing close ones but cmon 😂 https://t.co/T5jhFKh11Z

“Grazed him in the face. With a wind-up. How is this not flagrant?” a fan asked.

Earlier, there were even calls where James was trolled for “flopping” with Spurs rookie Jeremy Sochan asking why the Lakers star flops so much.

And parallel to that discussion, the poor officiating sort of calls for why the reactions from not just James, but other players perhaps gives rise to exaggerated reactions.

There’s surely work to be done on both fronts.
