In the 2021-22 NBA season, the Phoenix Suns were outplayed by Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Semifinals.
During Game 6 of the series, Luka Doncic looked at Devin Booker with a smile on his face. It became one of the most famous NBA memes last season. Well, this season, Booker is now getting trolled with a newer version of the meme featuring Nikola Jokic.

Devin Booker had a great overall series. He averaged 30.8 PPG, 4.7 RPG, and 7.8 APG. But in Game 6, Booker completely disappeared as he had just 12 points, 1 rebound, and 8 assists. The Suns’ superstar struggled to shoot all night and finished the game being 4-13 from the field.
Booker was arguably so embarrassed with his performance that he refused postgame media availability after the loss.
Devin Booker And Chris Paul Are Yet To Defeat A Healthy Team In The Playoffs
This was the third season for Chris Paul and Devin Booker as teammates. The duo has defeated teams in the postseason, but not when their opponents were healthy.
In 2021, the Suns defeated the Los Angeles Lakers without Anthony Davis in the first round (4-1), the Denver Nuggets without Jamal Murray in the second round (4-0), and the Los Angeles Clippers without Kawhi Leonard in the Western Conference Finals (4-2). They were outplayed by a healthy Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals (2-4).
In 2022, the Suns defeated the New Orleans Pelicans without Zion Williamson (4-2) and were bested by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round (3-4).
This season, the Suns eliminated the Clippers without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in the first round (4-1) but were dominated by Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets (2-4), who were at full strength.
It may be time for the Suns to make a decision about the future of their duo. They will most likely keep the roster intact, at least for another season. But the organization will not be satisfied with anything less than an NBA title next season.
