Jayson Tatum’s fourth-quarter heroics were predicted by Donovan Mitchell, and that proved to be true as the Boston Celtics forced a Game 7 on Thursday.

Taking to Twitter, the Cleveland Cavaliers star wrote, “JT gonna step up in the 4th.” And as his prediction would have it, Tatum poured 16 points in the final stretch to help Boston win 95-86 in what was a low-scoring affair. After struggling the first 3 quarters of Game 6, Tatum remained confident to explode in the fourth.

His exploits will now see the Sixers head back to the TD Garden with hopes of taking out the Celtics in their own backyard.

Soon after his heroics, Tatum made his message clear. “Humbly, I’m one of the best basketball players in the world,” he said.  “Go through struggles go through slumps. Thankfully I got some great teammates to hold it down, Brogdon, JB, Smart, Al… They all trusted me… All that matters was we won this game, give ourselves another chance come back home for Game 7.”

In the playoffs, Jayson Tatum is averaging 26.3 PPG, 10.4 RPG, and 5.2 APG and will look to step up big in the final game of the series.

Colin Cowherd Says Jayson Tatum Is More Like Andrew Wiggins Than Kobe Bryant

As far as comparisons go, Colin Cowherd believed that Jayson Tatum was a lot more like Golden State Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins than Kobe Bryant.

“Let me ask Celtics fans, you and I know that Jayson Tatum’s personality has been formed,” Cowherd said on The Herd. “He’s much more Wiggins than Kobe or MJ. He’s not hyper-aggressive. … Kobe, MJ, LeBron, and Bird – are aggressive. Jayson Tatum is more Wiggins. Doesn’t grab the game, that’s his personality.”

The immense comparison aside, Tatum and the Celtics are not done yet. After pipping the Atlanta Hawks 4-2 in the first round, they will need to get the better of the Sixers at home. The question is: Can Tatum do it again for Boston?
