Fans were relentless in their trolling of the Phoenix Suns, and at the receiving end was Chris Paul for his earlier comment that is now the butt of all jokes on social media.
After losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals in 2021, “It’s never going to feel good,” Paul told Sean Gregory of Time. “Now that I’ve got a taste of what that experience is like, I’m sort of addicted.”
And that was enough for fans to sharpen their fangs as they took a dig at the veteran guard. One fan, in particular, dished out quite the stinger. “Congrats to Chris Paul for overcoming his addiction,” the tweet read.

Paul was officially ruled out of Game 6 following due to a groin strain he suffered earlier in the series against the Denver Nuggets.
His absence proved to be crucial as the Suns went down 125-100 in Game 6, with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant failing to recreate their stellar form heading into the contest. Both players were trolled incessantly after the ouster.
Chris Paul Hasn’t Won A Single NBA Championship After 18 Years In The NBA
There’s no doubt that Chris Paul has been one of the bonafide stars in the league, but such has been his misfortune that he’s never won a ring despite his 18 years in the NBA.
While Paul is still a solid player, he is no longer the All-Star level force he once was. To top it all, injuries have hampered his performances and he played just two games against the Nuggets. He was expected to make a return in Game 6 but was ultimately sidelined.
Chances are that the guard and the Suns will look at one more season to see if they can go the distance. They do have the core comprising Paul, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton, but they could use more depth to bolster their chances. Will the 2023-24 season be the one for Paul? Only time will tell.
