Fans React To Nikola Jokic Shoving Suns Owner Mat Ishbia: “Not Afraid To Get In The Trenches”

Mat Ishbia is watching his Phoenix Suns avoid a second-round exit at the hand of the one-seed Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference.

The Suns were looking to avoid a 3-1 deficit in Game 4 of the series but Nikola Jokic was making it impossible for them. The flow of the game all changed when Jokic seemed to get into a confrontation with Ishbia courtside, as Jokic elbowed the Suns’ owner while going after the ball. Fans loved this fiery interaction between the player and owner.

Fans quickly brought back the time Nikola Jokic pushed Markieff Morris and sent him to the injury list for most of last season.

Suns fans were appreciating Ishbia goading Jokic into getting a technical foul.

Mat Ishbia bought the Suns from Robert Sarver, traded for KD on his first day of work, and just got his team an extra point in a playoff game by goading a tech out of Jokic. He’s built different

Some fans think Ishbia was wrong to rile Jokic up.

Suns fans were joking about the severity of the elbow from Jokic to Ishbia.

More fans joked about Ishbia overselling the contact from Jokic to see if he can get Adam Silver to suspend the big man for a pivotal Game 5 back in Denver.

Jokic had an incredible 53-point game but it came in a loss. This was one of his best individual performances in playoff history, but his supporting cast didn’t end up showing up and it sunk the team. Devin Booker and Kevin Durant continue their dominance in the series and have tied it up 2-2, heading back to Denver for Game 5.

A Sliver Of Sunlight For The Suns?

After Phoenix fell down 2-0 in this series, many assumed there was no chance they could come back and win the series due to the depth of the Nuggets. No depth, no problem, as Kevin Durant and Devin Booker have been wonderful on their own to keep them competitive in this series.

If the Suns can steal a game in Denver, this series is definitely in their favor. Right now, the Nuggets still have a slight advantage by virtue of having home court. But it could all fall apart if the Nuggets can’t maintain that in Game 5 and take a 3-2 series lead, coming one step closer to the Conference Finals.
