As the NBA playoffs continue to play out, many teams are already looking ahead to this summer’s draft, where standout prospect Victor Wembanyama is expected to steal the show.

Speaking on NBA Today this week, Weambanyama officially declared for the upcoming draft and reminded the world of his impending arrival.

Wembanyama hasn’t been tested the same as other superstar prospects, but his size, talent, and maturity, have combined to make him one of the highest-rated young players ever.

Of course, many fans posted jersey swaps of Wemby playing for their favorite team.

Clearly, the level of excitement for Wembanyama is huge and every fan is hoping their team lands the top pick this summer.

Obviously, it will be some time before we know where Victor will get drafted, but there is a sense that he’ll be a star no matter where he goes.

Wembanyama Is A True NBA Unicorn

This season, Wemby averaged 21.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game on 46% shooting for the Metropolitans 92 and he has shown exceptional potential as a playmaker and multi-level scorer.

One NBA player even called him a hybrid between Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, Rudy Gobert, and Kristaps Porzingis.

“When I first saw him, I thought he’s going to be a better version of Porzingis,” said Nic Batum to Brandon Robinson. “Rudy is great on defense, but I think that he is more versatile on defense than Rudy. … So I really can’t choose one player, but we can see some AD. We can see some Porzingis and can see a little bit of Giannis. So sometimes we can see a little bit of a couple of players. I watch his games every weekend, and, I mean, obviously he has a long road. And I know people are waiting for him for sure.”

Victor still has a lot to prove before he matches up to anyone’s expectations but he seems more than up for the task at this point in his basketball journey.

So as the top teams fight for the ultimate prize this season, there is another prize waiting for the biggest losers this summer, and it might just be enough to turn their situation completely around.

It will be an exciting offseason for the NBA, which is especially fitting given how this postseason has played out.
