Damian Lillard was one of the stars in attendance during the drama-filled Game 3 of the first-round playoff series between the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers.

His presence had NBA fans speculating that he would leave the Portland Trail Blazers in the summer.

One of the fans believed a trade was in the offing, “Imagine Dame demands a trade to the Nets this offseason and we manage to fleece Portland for Cam Thomas, Dayron Sharpe, Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris, and 3-4 firsts.”

This was seconded by another who felt Lillard would look good in a Sixers jersey.

To some, it was just off-season things.

In all likelihood, Lillard could have just made the trip down to Brooklyn to catch a game since he has had an early offseason with the Blazers failing to make the playoffs. The eyebrows raised when a California native flew down to catch a Nets game.

Lillard’s future with Portland will be one of the off-season stories to watch out for. His latest comments suggest that he would perhaps give the team another shot at fitting in the right pieces alongside him to win a title.

“I wanna win right now,” said NBA insider Chris Haynes said on Lillard’s behalf earlier this month. “Lillard said The Blazers tell me that they wanna win right now, so for right now, I’m going to trust them that we’re all on the same page and that they’re gonna do things to improve this roster, to put this roster in position to be a championship-contending team.”

It was a dismal end to the Blazers’ campaign despite the guard’s brilliance. He ended this season with 32.2 points. 4.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists. Only time will tell if the Blazers can hang on to their superstar in the summer.

Will Damian Lillard Join The Chicago Bulls Next Season?

It would be a blockbuster move if the Chicago Bulls manage to land Damian Lillard. Not only is he a prolific scorer and an astute playmaker, but the 32-year-old is also the ideal replacement for the injured Lonzo Ball, who may miss the majority of the 2023-24 season.

Earlier, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report had a solution for the Bulls’ woes. “If the Bulls want any chance to contend next season, they have to up their star power and fix their point guard position,” he wrote. “A megadeal for Damian Lillard would solve both problems.”

The ball is in Portland’s court right now. And in all probability, they would likely pull the trigger and add some major names to support Lillard, rather than lose him to some of the prime contenders in the summer.
