The Chicago Bulls defeated the Toronto Raptors in the play-in tournament game, 109-105. There’s no doubt that this was a good game, with it going down to the very last minutes before the winner was decided.

DeMar DeRozan’s daughter Diar played a role in the Chicago Bulls’ win, with her frequently screaming at and taunting the Toronto Raptors’ players. Her tactics were so effective, that United Airlines even offered to fly her out for the Chicago Bulls’ upcoming game against the Miami Heat. However, her heckling has clearly caused some people to go off the rails. NBA reporter Chris Haynes recently revealed that Diar DeRozan had to be escorted out of the game by security because of some online threats that were directed at her.

“DeMar DeRozan’s daughter, Diar, was escorted out of Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday by Bulls’ security and led to the team bus with her father after NBA notified the team of severe online threats directed at the nine-year-old, sources tell
NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report.”

There is no doubt that this is unacceptable, and it is good to see that DeMar DeRozan’s daughter is alright. Unfortunately, fans’ behavior can sometimes be ugly, and it is clear that this is the case here.

DeMar DeRozan Is Likely To Stay With The Bulls Next Season

DeMar DeRozan has had a solid tenure with the Bulls, making two All-Star teams with the franchise. Many have speculated about his future, however, as he will be on an expiring contract next season. One previous report suggested that he will end up staying with the Bulls next season, though his future is uncertain after that.

“Well, DeMar has been pretty open that he thought he was going to the Lakers and home as a free agent two years ago and that’s where he wanted to go,” Smith wrote. “But he’s since said he believes in finishing what he started and has grown to like Chicago and the Bulls.”

“Things change depending on, as I’ve said and we know, how the postseason goes. But with one more year on his contract, I expect DeRozan to be with the Bulls next season. Perhaps not after that.”

It will be interesting to see what moves the Chicago Bulls will make this off-season. They have a lot of decisions to make regarding what direction they will take, and it will certainly be an exciting summer for the franchise. It seems as though DeMar DeRozan will not be one of the players moved, though things change quickly in the NBA.
