LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players of all time, but he is also your typical father who loves embarrassing his children. James’ youngest son, Bryce, graduated from Sierra Canyon High School on Thursday, and the Los Angeles Lakers star hilariously embarrassed him during the convocation ceremony.

Bryce just shook his head as the crowd at SC Stadium erupted in laughter. It was a fun moment, and James certainly enjoyed it.

“Proud dad!”

LeBron James' Instagram story.

James wasn’t the only one at the ceremony, as the entire family tagged along for Bryce’s big day. Fortunately for the 17-year-old, none of the others embarrassed him the way his father did. Bryce’s mother, Savannah, put out a heartfelt post on Instagram to congratulate him.

“Yesterday we celebrated Bryce James as he walks into a new chapter of life!! So proud of you and all the hard work you’ve done to get to this point. This is only the beginning! Keep striving to be the absolute best version of you! Love you more than words can explain and so excited to see what the future has for you!! I love you Stink!!”

Bryce has committed to Arizona, and he’ll have his family’s full support as he enters an exciting new chapter in his life. He finished his high school career in style, winning the state championship with Sierra Canyon. Bryce would be hoping more success follows at the collegiate level.

LeBron James Could Wait For Bryce James To Enter The NBA Before He Retires

While Bryce is still at the start of his basketball journey, his father’s is about to end. James just finished his 22nd season in the NBA, but he isn’t walking away just yet. NBA insider Shams Charania reported that LeBron won’t be retiring and added he could wait for Bryce.

“Does the Bryce James factor play into it at all? His son is going to potentially be draft-eligible in 2026 next year,” said Shams. “If he feels at some point next year that Bryce James might be an NBA player, does he extend that window? I think that’s the only potential caveat you’d think of out there that can keep LeBron James even longer than one more year.”

James has already made history by playing alongside his eldest son, Bronny, whom the Lakers selected with the 55th pick of the 2024 NBA Draft. They are the first father-son duo to play together, and it would be quite incredible if Bryce joins them as well.

As Charania pointed out, Bryce could enter the NBA as early as next year. You’d think James, who averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game in 2024-25, would have enough gas left in the tank to stick around for two more seasons.

James stated back in December 2024 that he could play at a high level for 5-7 more years. The 40-year-old also made it clear that just because he can, it doesn’t mean he will.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
