Nick Wright’s pyramid of trusted players didn’t please some of the fans, and they let the analyst know it.

Wright had 21 players on his pyramid and it had some familiar names, but fans were ticked off that he had LeBron James in the third tier, considering that the Los Angeles Lakers star has been one of Wright’s favorites.

Breaking down by tiers:

Tier 6: De’Aaron Fox, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, Trae Young, And Klay Thompson

Tier 5: Donovan Mitchell, Ja Morant, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, And Jaylen Brown

Tier 4: Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Davis, And Nikola Jokic

Tier 3: LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, And Jayson Tatum

Tier 2: Stephen Curry, And Kevin Durant

Tier 1: Giannis Antetokounmpo

It’s a little perplexing that Wright put James in Tier 3 when he previously stated that he believed the veteran was better than Durant and Antetokounmpo — both of whom are placed above in his pyramid.

Not all fans were happy with Wright’s choice of putting James in the third tier. Some also questioned how Thompson was in the last tier when he had four rings to show for.

“Tatum over Jokic and Embiid,” one of the fans said.

“Jimmy Butler being below.. below.. not even level with, Jayson Tatum, on a most trusted IN THE PLAYOFFS list is factually ridiculous,” another opined.

“They just forgot about all those other horrid Giannis playoffs runs after one ring,” a tweet read.

For one fan. the list was laughable.

While at it, it’s also worth noting that Wright had said Curry still had some work to do to make the list of All-time starting five, though he does have the sharpshooter in the second tier.

The list surely is one man’s opinion. And we’re sure Wright has his reasons behind keeping each player in the tier that he’s slotted them in. Only time will tell if his next pyramid will have more fans in agreement.
