The Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving experiment is about to blow up right in front of the Dallas Mavericks organization, as this talented duo hasn’t worked as expected when they completed a blockbuster trade for the point guard.

Tim Hardaway Sr., whose son plays with Doncic and Irving, recently blasted these two players, calling them out for not being leaders.

“That trade wasn’t for them, what isn’t broken doesn’t need to be fixed,” Hardaway said, referring to the Mavs’ trade for Irving before this year’s deadline. “They’re missing a leader out there. Luka is not a leader, Kyrie is not a leader. Jalen Brunson was a leader.

“A leader shows by example too, by playing defense. When he says something, he does it also, and that’s what a leader is. And like I said, those two guys are not leaders, they’re complimentary, dominant great basketball players. Great scorers.”

Hardaway, just like the rest of the league, is seeing the Mavericks struggle to even make it to the play-in tournament. Things are looking bad for the Mavs, and despite Tim Hardaway Jr.’s big words about Luka, the Slovenian player isn’t helping his team at this moment.

Luka Doncic Takes The Blame For Dallas Mavericks’ Bad Season

Luka took a step forward recently and got the blame for his team’s bad season. The young player is well aware that the team needs to play a lot better, and they haven’t been able to do so. Doncic admits that the defense is hurting the offense, and if they want to win something, they need to change that.

Right now, the Mavs have a 37-42 record, ranking 11th in the Western Conference. They clash against the inspired Sacramento Kings in a duel that could ruin their chances to steal the 10th position in the West or keep them in the fight for the play-in tournament.
