Dwyane Wade is one of the greatest guards to ever play in the NBA, a 3-time champion, and a Finals MVP. The Miami Heat legend was set to be a Hall Of Famer, and no one was surprised when he was named as soon as he became eligible. And the man who coached him to his first title and constructed the team that won him his next 2 congratulated Wade after the announcement.

“We are all so proud of Dwyane as a first-ballot recipient, selected to be enshrined into the Naismith Basketball Memorial Hall of Fame,” Riley said. “What an honor! It’s EARNED and DESERVED!!”

Pat Riley spoke nothing but facts there. Dwyane Wade has achieved enough to become a first-ballot Hall Of Famer. Aside from his championships, Wade was a 13-time NBA All-Star and was named to 8 All-NBA teams during his career. He led the league in scoring in 2009 and even made the All-Defensive Second Team thrice during his career.

His accolades are too many to count, Wade was undoubtedly among the greatest to ever do it. The Miami Heat retired his jersey, he is the greatest player in the franchise’s history. And there were plenty of other people reacting to the news of him getting in, including the man himself.

Dwyane Wade Had A Lovely Reaction To Being Told That He Had Made It Into The Hall Of Fame

For a man that has been celebrated for most of his career, one would think that another accolade wouldn’t mean all that much. But a video of Dwyane Wade finding out went viral, with Wade cracking open the champagne in reaction to getting the big news. “I’m like a kid in a candy store right now,” Wade said about his induction into the Hall of Fame.

LeBron James, who won two championships playing alongside Wade, was quick to congratulate him as well. Even if someone isn’t the biggest fan of the Miami Heat or Dwyane Wade, they would find it hard to argue that he doesn’t deserve this honor. His long-time rival Dirk Nowitzki also went into the Hall Of Fame alongside Wade, with the two headlining the 2023 class.
