Indiana Pacers guard Buddy Hield is well-known for his sharpshooting ability on the court. He has been a key member of the Indiana Pacers this season, forming a dynamic backcourt with Tyrese Haliburton.

Recently, however, Buddy Hield made the news for something that wasn’t related to his basketball ability. Hield was spotted showing the middle finger on camera, and was subsequently fined $25K by the league. It is unclear who the gesture was directed towards.

It is easy to see why the NBA fined Buddy Hield for this gesture. Though this may have been funny to the fans watching, it is still something that is considered inappropriate overall.

This year, Buddy Hield has averaged 17.1 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 2.7 APG for the Indiana Pacers. He has had a fantastic shooting season as well, shooting 42.5% from the 3PT range. He has been a trade target for a lot of teams over the course of this past year, and perhaps some could try to trade for him again this offseason.

Buddy Hield Is Known As An NBA Ironman

Availability is one of the most important attributes for a player to have, and Buddy Hield is known for always being available. In fact, previously, it was revealed that he has only missed three games in his entire career.

“He missed 2 games in November 2017 because of an ankle injury, and he was sidelined for one game due to an illness on April 12, 2021.
He has played every other game possible. There is technically a 4th game that he missed in 2022, but he was in the process of getting traded from Sacramento to Indiana, so I’m not sure if that should count.
Regardless, Buddy Hield (and Mikal Bridges) has been the ultimate iron man the moment he stepped in the league.”

Having a player be reliably available is good for any team, as that can allow coaches to simply pencil in their production every evening and not worry that they will miss time with injuries.

Hopefully, we see Buddy Hield’s ironman streak continue for a long time. He has clearly shown insane durability thus far, and his playstyle doesn’t necessarily rely on athleticism and slashing. All that suggests that he will continue to be available and play games for the Pacers, and Hield still has a lot of time left in his career.
