Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time for most NBA fans around the globe. Jordan’s time in the NBA was full of amazing moments with the Chicago Bulls, including winning six NBA Championships with the team.

By the time Jordan retired from the NBA, he had established an untouchable aura around him, and not many thought that a similar like him could enter the league for several decades. However, Kobe Bryant proved everyone wrong, as Kobe undoubtedly had a freakishly similar playing style to Jordan.

Keeping that in mind, who would win in a hypothetical 1-on-1 matchup between the two legends in the prime of their respective careers?

‘Basketball Forever’ on Instagram asked this question as a poll from fans. Here is what fans thought about the hypothetical 1-on-1 game between Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

db0530: The Master will teach the student! That young Mike in his prime was to gifted!

weirdogee: For my life, I’m taking kobe.

des_atrip: Prime Kobe tad faster than Mike and smidge better on ball defense. Kobe.

felixlam615: MJ, love Kobe and its a hella close game. Mj is just bigger stronger faster, skill wise Kobe might have this edge. But mj is too physically gifted. Even Phil Jackson said he picked Mj in a 1v1.

luis_uh_angel: This one’s close. Both great scorers and defenders and they both have that “IT” factor… as much as I love Kobe I’m gonna give the slight edge to MJ. He’s slightly more efficient at scoring. Kobe does have a better 3 and handles. MJ is more dynamic and persistent AND he hustles more for his bucket but Kobe ain’t no slouch either. They mirror each other but the original takes the cake.

ke.shonnn: Ik MJ is better than Kobe but i think in a 1v1 setting Kobe clears MJ.

knocelli_: Kobe. Only because mj aint a threat from the perimeter.

ayeitsrj: Universe on the line? I gotta say Kobe.

chriscalderrr: If you don’t think Kobe pounds everyone then you don’t know hoops.

Although most fans agreed to the fact that Michael Jordan is a better overall player than Kobe Bryant, in a 1-on-1 situation, they still Kobe would defeat Jordan.

Who Was Better Between Michael Jordan And Kobe Bryant?

While the above-attached Instagram post reached in conclusion that Kobe would win a 1-on-1 situation, when we compare the careers of the two legends, Michael is certainly better than Kobe.

However, in the small number of games that the two players faced off against each other, Kobe had more head-to-head wins. But Jordan had better stats.

At the end of the day, the two players are legends of the sport and were faces of the league during their careers.
