Imagine being told before the season started that the Golden State Warriors would enter the All-Star break with a 29-29 record. It would have been unthinkable that the defending champions would be this mediocre so deep into the season, but that is indeed the case.

Injuries have definitely played a part, as Stephen Curry has missed 20 games, and Andrew Wiggins has been on the sidelines quite often as well. Still, you’d expect better from the Warriors, who just don’t seem to be quite right this season.

Draymond Green would have loved to play in the All-Star game on Sunday, but their struggles meant he had to settle for a role on the sideline, as he called the game along with the likes of Charles Barkley for TNT. Barkley has never been the biggest fan of the Warriors, and he told Green to his face that they are done this season.

"That's crazy. You said that last year, but we all know you don't know what you're talking about."- Draymond Green

"Y'all are cooked now… ya'll are done… I'm telling you, y'all are done."- Charles Barkley🏀☠️ pic.twitter.com/86jELqZKF9

Charles Barkley: “I hate to say it, but the Golden State Warriors are cooked.”

Draymond Green: “That’s crazy. You said that last year, but we all know you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Charles Barkley: “No, I did not say that last year.”

Draymond Green: “You said it every year since I’ve been in the league.”

Charles Barkley: “That’s not true but y’all are cooked now… ya’ll are done… I’m telling you, y’all are done.”

Barkley has written off the Warriors’ chances of winning in the past, as Draymond says, but he might well turn out to be right this time around. Teams that go on to win titles may struggle at times, but the Warriors have had a lot of stretches where they have just played bad basketball. They might still pull it off, but it will be a miracle if they go on and win it from where they are at present.

Draymond Green Doesn’t Think The Warriors Are Having A Championship Hangover

Quite a lot of reasons have been put forth on why Golden State has struggled this season. One of them is that they might be having a championship hangover, and Draymond completely dismissed that theory.

He feels they don’t have the will to defend and take that extra step as a team, which is quite damning, and he seems to be trying to push some buttons with these comments. There has been another explanation for their struggles, though, and that is Draymond’s punch on Jordan Poole before the season. A Western Conference executive believes it destroyed the team’s camaraderie and locker room, which might well be the case.
