The Toronto Raptors have regained their position as the most intriguing trade deadline team after the Brooklyn Nets traded Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks. The Raptors players are easily some of the best available on the market, with OG Anunoby being the star piece that is likely to get moved.

While the Raptors haven’t shown a definite interest in moving Pascal Siakam, the right offer might be the one that can make him the unarguable best name available on the market.

Kevin O’Connor has revealed that the Brooklyn Nets have had talks with the Raptors for various players. While Ben Simmons is a piece that they have offered to the Raptors because of their interest in him in 2021, it seems his poor fit alongside Scottie Barnes will keep them away from making a move.

However, they also revealed that the Raptors have discussed the availability of Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby with multiple teams in trade talks.

“One of the teams Brooklyn has been most connected to is the Raptors, who have had trade talks with multiple teams involving Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby. The Raptors had interest in Simmons in 2021 when the 76ers were shopping him. Though Scottie Barnes’s emergence would make Simmons a strange fit as they’re both non-shooters, he does count as a buy-low, high-value target who could restore his career in time.” (h/t The Ringer)

Anunoby looks primed and ready to be moved with concerning reports coming out of Toronto about Anunoby’s happiness on the team. Siakam has reportedly expressed a desire to stay, but the Raptors could move him if the package is worthy of Siakam’s All-NBA stature.

Who All Will The Raptors Prioritize Trading Away?

OG Anunoby seems atop the headlines for most Raptors-related trades right now. The 3-and-D forward can swing many potential contenders into bonafide contenders, with the Grizzlies and Pelicans allegedly trying to outbid each other to get him.

Gary Trent Jr. and the Raptors seem to be at the end of their road together with the shooter linked to teams like the Lakers, Knicks, and Suns. The same goes for Fred VanVleet, who is also in trade talks after being tipped to opt out of his contract and become a free agent at the end of the season.

Pascal Siakam could arguably be the safest asset at the moment, with both player and team willing to continue their partnership. However, it could all change if a team comes in with a big offer to tempt the star away.
