The New York Knicks have been mentioned in a series of rumors in recent months, and their owner has finally come up and denied them. James Dolan has been a controversial figure around the NBA, and even Knicks fans despise him for the team’s lack of success.

Ever since he took over, the Knicks have struggled to get things going, always being stuck with stars that made them a good team but not serious contenders. This has been the common thing for Dolan, who was rumored to be looking to sell the team in recent months, but he denied it in August.

It seems like the buzz is still around him, and James doubled down on those comments, making it clear that he’s not selling the Knicks, and when he’s not around, somebody from the family will take over.

New York Knicks Owner Clarifies He’s Not Trying To Sell The Team

The most recent rumors claimed that Dolan would sell both the Knicks and New York Rangers, but the owner has no intention of doing that, saying that this is a family business and it’ll stay that way for a long time.

James Dolan, when asked if there’s a world where he would sell the Knicks and/or Rangers if the right offer came along:

“I have no plans whatsoever to sell at this point. I’m not retiring anytime soon. It’s a family controlled asset, so someone in the family will own it.”

He also talked about Leon Rose’s job on the team, praising the executive and calling him the best guy to get big players to New York. This is a controversial statement from Dolan, but he sounds pretty confident about it.

James Dolan to WFAN on if he thinks Leon Rose has done a good job: "Yes. Absolutely…The team with the best talent wins. So then you want a guy who can get you the best talent and I believe Leon Rose is still the best guy."

It must be said that the Knicks are a good surprise this season, not making a lot of noise and still competing in the Eastern Conference. After their failed search for Donovan Mitchell, they focused on maximizing their chances with their current roster and seeing what they can do with this group of players.

Right now, they rank 7th in the East with a 27-23 record. This shows how strong this conference is, and how well the Knicks have played this campaign. However, they’re still a couple of games away from the top 4, and it remains to be seen if they can achieve it soon.
