Winning isn’t easy in the NBA, but the Golden State Warriors have made it look pretty easy over the last 8 years. Thanks to guys like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green coming together, the Warriors have become a dynasty of epic proportions.

For a 4x champion like Draymond, each title carries weight and all are important to his legacy. But as Green would later explain in a sit-down with Taylor Rooks, his most recent championship with the Dubs just feels a little different than the others.

“The first one was disbelief. I’ll never forget maybe 10 games into the season, we all looking at each other like ‘hey, we can win a championship.’ The 2017 one was like, with KD coming here, you know we cannot lose. First we were the good guys then we were the super villains 2018. I think that one was kind of like the icing on the cake for all of it. Like, let’s go do it again. The fourth one was like the biggest f**k you I have no better way of explaining it. That was ‘F**k you’ to everybody.”

What made the 2022 run so special was that nobody saw it coming. The previous year, Golden State wasn’t relevant at all and many people assumed the dynasty was dead.

Yet, despite the doubts, the Warriors weren’t done yet and managed to win the chip last summer against all expectations. Can they do it again?

Will The Warriors Make Another Trip To The Finals?

With a .500 record over halfway through the season, it’s clear that this year’s Warriors squad has some serious issues to resolve. Even with Steph healthy, something has been off with their performance.

Nevertheless, Draymond hasn’t lost any faith that the Warriors can go all the way.

Where’s the optimism level? Green was asked this question in a Brooklyn locker room after the Warriors were whacked by 30 points. His eyes bulged open. He tilted his head to the side. He grinned. The message: Why even ask?

“I’m the same guy who everyone told was crazy when I said we were going to win a championship last year,” Green said. That opinion presumably hasn’t changed? “Anybody proved otherwise yet?” Green asked.

No matter how much the Dubs are struggling now, there isn’t a team in the league that believes they’ll be out of the picture when the playoffs begin this spring.

If they manage to somehow win it all again this year, too, it’s even further proof that you can never count them out.
